There are many internet sites that offer online betting for the NBA Season. This season runs from late October to April. Also included in this NBA betting season are the playoff games and the finals.

The NBA is divided into four divisions – the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Midwest and the Central divisions. These divisions are comprised of 29 teams, with games that occur almost everyday of the week.

The following are common terms you should know if making NBA betting picks -

• Point spread – This means that the team that you bet on must win by the point spread you designate.

• Over/Under Wager – The total points scored from both teams have to be over or under the side that is picked. Also included in this is overtime.

• Moneyline – Your bet is based on a price that is paid out. To win this, your team must win the game.

• Proposition – Your bet is based on events that can occur during the game.

• Point buying – When making NBA betting picks, you have the option to purchase points to improve point spread odds. Many Atlantic City sportsbooks and internet casinos offer this method of betting.

Making NBA betting picks -

• Straight/side bets – This is the most used form of betting. You place your bet on the team that you think will win. Point spread is also a part of this bet.

• Totals – In this case, the betting is based on the total points that are scored in the game and whether or not they are higher or lower than the posted total.

• Parlays – This combines a group of straight bets or totals into a single bet.

• Teasers – This is the same as a parlay, except that the line you bet against for each wager is moved to your favor by the number of points in a teaser.
